MANUFACTURING FACILITIES

Aspen Aerogels currently houses its original prototype manufacturing facility in over 31,000
square feet of space located in Northborough, Mass. The Company also has over 80,000 square
feet in Northborough for chemicals, applications and prototype development labs and office space. A second production facility of 146,000 square feet was completed recently in East Providence, Rhode Island.

The manufacturing team is led by Kevin Schmidt, Vice President of Manufacturing Operations, who previously spent 17 years at the Dow Chemical Company as a plant and site leader on global business
and operational teams.

Additionally, the manufacturing team is led by executives with 10 to 20+ years of experience each from Dow, DuPont, GE and Rohm and Haas for the Plant Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety and Supply Chain functions.

Aspen Aerogels is deeply committed to producing quality materials and making continuous improvement for all of its customers across a range of applications and industries. Automated analyses of critical process parameters and complete product characterization within the onsite Quality laboratory ensures control of process and product.

Aspen Aerogels has been ISO 9001:2000 certified (certificate No. 08000108) since 2005 for its Northborough, Mass., and East Providence, R.I., facilities in an audit conducted by Bureau Veritas Certification. The scope of this certification includes all major business processes including manufacturing, quality, supply chain, research and development, administration, sales, and marketing.
