Aspen Aerogels’ blanket products can be handled much in the same way as traditional fiber-based insulation materials, allowing the use of conventional installation practices. Available in roll form, custom shapes can be cut using a metal blade, hot knife, laser or water jet. With the flexibility of common felts, sections of aerogel blanket can be installed flat, or wrapped around complex shapes. The hydrophobic nature limits moisture pick-up during application, allowing installation even under adverse weather conditions.
